John and Carole

Hello Our names are Carole & John Grabish. We are part of a group from Kampala, Uganda, Africa called Caring Hands. It was Oct. 2006 when one of our missionary Pastors was at our church asking for help to market these beautiful Life Saving recycled paper necklaces, bracelets, etc. We listened to his story about Africa & it struck a chord in our hearts. We Said “Let’s Do This”, so we contacted Milla Happonen in Caring Hands, Kampala, Uganda and told her we wish to help.

Since that day we have been growing very attached to Caring Hands and all the fine Ladies of Uganda that make these beads. The quality of their work is just excellent. When we show the necklaces to people they say “No Way, This is not paper” that is how good the quality of these beads are. Well that was Oct. 2006 and 22 ladies were making these beads and making a good living now. Since Oct. 2006 to March 2008 there are now 50 Ladies & their families doing this. This today is part of my Missionary program through our Church, Saalem Church here in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

When we first started it was just wonderful, people liked the beads & they really supported the cause and because of this we are expanding our network here in Canada and the US. We have many retail stores helping us as well as many Ladies which we call Caring Hands Angels. These ladies and their families are so very dedicated to help these poor people in Africa. Because of this network our sales are skyrocketing and many of these “Angels” are donating any & all profits from the sales. This is truly a gift for the poor. Anybody who knows anything about Africa knows of the problems there.

Well as we get to meet so many caring people we are planning to go to Kampala, Uganda in the year 2009. This is our plan and feel we can achieve this goal. Once we have completed that trip and met with these fine Ladies and their families as well as Caring Hands people it will be probably the greatest accomplishment of our lives. So folks please do help us by purchasing some beads as a gift for yourself, a friend or relative. You will not be disappointed.
